AT 11:00 PM EASTERN TIME, BARACK OBAMA WAS ELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. IT ONLY TOOK 44 PRESIDENTS AND 219 YEARS, BUT WE HAVE A BLACK PRESIDENT. VIRGINIA, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 44 YEARS, ELECTED A DEMOCRAT TO THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN OUR NATION. MUCH DISCUSSION WILL FOLLOW THIS NIGHT. ALL I HAVE TO SAY, IS THAT I AM BLESSED TO HAVE LIVED THROUGH THIS MOMENT. I HOPE THAT WE ALL AS A COUNTRY, RED AND BLUE, WHITE AND BLACK, CAN PUT DIFFERENCES BEHIND US AND MOVE FORWARD AND GET TO THE WORK OF MAKING AMERICA WHAT IT IS THAT WE ALL WANT AND KNOW IT TO BE.
GOD BLESS AMERICA.

I agree, it is a blessing to have lived through this great moment in history. I am praying for President Obama because he has a big job ahead of him running this great country and making it even better than before. He will also be under immense scrutiny just being the first black president. We all know that America may not make it very easy. He is also setting the bar for children of any race who aspire to be the President one day.
