WHERE WERE YOU?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Benjamin @ 12:23 am

AT 11:00 PM EASTERN TIME, BARACK OBAMA WAS ELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. IT ONLY TOOK 44 PRESIDENTS AND 219 YEARS, BUT WE HAVE A BLACK PRESIDENT. VIRGINIA, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 44 YEARS, ELECTED A DEMOCRAT TO THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN OUR NATION. MUCH DISCUSSION WILL FOLLOW THIS NIGHT. ALL I HAVE TO SAY, IS THAT I AM BLESSED TO HAVE LIVED THROUGH THIS MOMENT. I HOPE THAT WE ALL AS A COUNTRY, RED AND BLUE, WHITE AND BLACK, CAN PUT DIFFERENCES BEHIND US AND MOVE FORWARD AND GET TO THE WORK OF MAKING AMERICA WHAT IT IS THAT WE ALL WANT AND KNOW IT TO BE.

GOD BLESS AMERICA.

An apology to the readers

Filed under: Uncategorized — Benjamin @ 8:03 pm

I know most of you were expecting a new post for the second Presidential debate this Tuesday past. There wasn’t one, and for that I apologize. There was a live chat, in the same room as always, but I take the hit for not advertising, and posting the link. I will try not to let such a mistake happen again. Thank you for your continued interest.

Keep reading. Keep posting.

GOV. Sarah Palin:

Ultimately,
What the bailout does
Is help those who are concerned
About the health care reform
That is needed
To help shore up our economy,
Helping the?
It’s got to be all about job creation, too.

Shoring up our economy
And putting it back on the right track.
So health care reform
And reducing taxes
And reining in spending
Has got to accompany tax reductions
And tax relief for Americans.
And trade.

We’ve got to see trade
As opportunity
Not as a competitive, scary thing.
But one in five jobs
Being created in the trade sector today,
We’ve got to look at that
As more opportunity.
All those things.

I came across an article in the Washington Post by Fareed Zakaria. It was an op/ed about how poorly Palin is handling interviews and how she is not ready to be the VP. The article was really nothing new, but I always enjoy the comments. Below are some that I considered especially thought provoking. What are your thoughts?

Yes, I know its only week 4, but in Washington, a successful season can be measured by how bad we (the Skins) lose to the Cowboys. (Remember the 91 season? Skins fans were really upset that one of the 2 losses was to the Boys. Won the Superbowl, but took an L from Dallas. Toss up.) I had to post this because many Cowboy fans, as usual, had “MAD JUNK” to talk this week.  Campbell, Portis, Randel-El, Moss, Thrash (too name a very few) took out the trash. Hail.

If you were unable to log in for the the live chat, the transcript is available here. Thanks to those of you who made it to the chat, your participation and perspective are appreciated. See you OCTOBER 2nd.
